Composite Bonding Sandhurst & Camberley

Chipped, cracked, unwanted gaps and irregular shaped teeth may affect your confidence to smile. Any of these issues may make you feel self-conscious. Don’t worry, there is an affordable solution with composite bonding.

What is Composite Bonding and Tooth Re-Shaping?

Composite bonding consists of a dental resin that is colour-matched to your own teeth to give natural results. This putty can be used to cover chipped and cracked teeth and moulded to make small and irregular teeth appear bigger or to appear more even. Dental bonding can be used on one or several teeth to give a smile makeover.

Small chips and uneven edges can be carefully smoothed so that they are shaped to match your other teeth.

Hundreds of patients throughout Sandhurst, Yateley, Blackwater, Camberley, Crowthorne and Berkshire are choosing dental bonding and tooth re-shaping as an affordable way to improve the appearance of their teeth. Get in touch for a free consultation.

Composite bonding is a painless procedure that usually takes about an hour to complete. If you are having more than one tooth treated, this may mean you need more appointment times.

A resin will be chosen to match the colour of your teeth. Your cosmetic dentist will then prepare your tooth by gently etching at the surface and applying a conditioning liquid which allows the resin to stick to the surface of the tooth. The resin is then gently moulded on to your tooth until we are all happy with the result. A laser will finally seal the resin to your tooth so that it cannot come off.

Composite Bonding Faqs

How long does composite bonding last?
On average, composite bonding will last for about 5 years, after which time, you will need to remove or replace your dental bonding. There are several factors which will affect the lifespan of teeth bonding including the quality of the bonding work, where in your mouth the bonding is placed, the health of your teeth and your oral hygiene.

If you take good care of your teeth by regularly brushing, flossing and visiting your dentist and hygienist plus if you avoid bad habits like biting on pen lids and consuming lots of sugary foods and drinks, your composite bonding is likely to last for longer.

Does dental bonding stain?
Yes, there is a possibility of this happening, but as composite bonding is non-porous, it will stain at a slower rate than your teeth. We recommend limiting the amount of dark-coloured drinks like coffee and red wine which will contribute to the staining of your bonding. Ensure you maintain a good oral hygiene to keep your composite bonding in good condition and to slow down the rate of staining.
Can I get my teeth whitened with composite bonding?
Unfortunately, teeth whitening treatments will not work on any restorations such as dental bonding, fillings or crowns. If you are looking to get your teeth whitened, we suggest doing this before you have your composite bonding treatment as the teeth bonding can be matched to your new whiter shade of teeth.
